ABOUT ANGIE
Angie hails from the coastal town of Savannah, Georgia, refreshingly bringing her southern charm and genuine love & enthusiasm for fitness – right into the heart of Beverly Hills, California. With over 19 years of teaching experience in the fitness industry, Angie effectively combines her experience as an “eye of the tiger” competitive athlete and as a “peaceful warrior” yogi into her popular style of teaching.
Angie “seamlessly weaves elements of athleticism, discipline, strength, flexibility, and grace” into each challenging one-on-one training session and group class. Clients marvel at her “x-ray vision” into the musculoskeletal system and in her ability to cue them into “engaging the appropriate muscles” for each movement.
Having been a competitive athlete since the age of 6, Angie learned how the body can perform most efficiently and effectively firsthand. Coupled with her athletic experience – swimming, running, volleyball, basketball and ballet –
ultimately earning her a 4-year Cross Country Running Scholarship to
Georgia Southern University - is her extensive educational background. In addition to her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree, Angie is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Certified Personal Trainer. Through NASM she also holds the Optimum Performance Training Certification for the Prenatal Client. She is also a certified Yoga Instructor and has subsequently earned yoga specialty teacher training certifications in Yoga for Kids and in Pre/Postnatal Yoga. Angie also successfully completed the highly acclaimed Boxing Specialty Course endorsed through NASM.
From 2004-2006, Angie was a leading Private Trainer and Yoga Instructor for the Sports Club LA in Beverly Hills. There she was a regular member of the “120 club” training over 120 sessions per month and was also the winner of the “Employee Overall Ultimate Fitness Challenge” in 2005.
Currently Angie trains clients and teaches yoga on daily basis in Beverly Hills and in the surrounding Los Angeles area. Angie has recently been selected by the International Company, Lululemon Athletica, www.lululemon.com, as an Ambassador for the Beverly Hills Community. Angie was also recently awarded with the Luna, Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, Ambassador Program for 2007.
Angie has been featured nationally in magazines such as SAVANNAH, SELF and FITNESS and on television shows including ACCESS HOLLWOOD and E! NEWS demonstrating the latest fitness moves and de-stressing yoga sequences. Angie’s Ocean to Mountains Fitness, her high energy cardio and yoga class has become a popular morning hot spot on the ocean bluff of Santa Monica.
What is most important to Angie is her family, friends and her belief in sharing the gifts she has been given – “brightening paths, lightening loads and lifting hearts through fitness.” Angie has volunteered over 400 hours throughout the world, bringing yoga and fitness to Roatan, Honduras, the Phoenix Fire Department, Venice, California’s Coeur d’Alene Elementary school, the El Hogar Orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico and the Downtown Women’s Center in Los Angeles.
